What do you gift someone who has everything? That seems to be the main question among royalty. The Royal family has a long-standing tradition, apparently unknown to the public up until recently. The Royals are actually making jokes with their Christmas gifts which is surprisingly satisfying to read about. It makes them feel more like they are just human—like all of us. Also, it is surely interesting to take a peek inside the Royal family’s Christmas tradition and the many customs it includes. Prince Harry’s cool gift for his grandma, the Queen!
Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is quite the target of celebrity news and media this year. We all watched in awe as he and Meghan Markle tied the knot at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018, beginning a beautiful marriage between a British prince and an American former actress. His grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, attended the celebration, of course. And now, we guess it is time for Harry to show his gratitude. Rumor has it that Harry bought his grandma a shower cap with the statement ‘Ain’t life a b*tch’ written on it. I guess we can all imagine how fashionable it must look.
Decorating the Trees and Inspiring the World
The Queen is traditionally involved in decorating not just her own Christmas trees in Buckingham Palace and Sandringham. She also visits children in charitable organizations and helps them with prepping for the festivities and also to inspire people to donate to charity. Early in December 2018, Elizabeth II visited the Coram Foundation and joined the children in decorating. Thomas Coram Foundation for Children is one of the oldest of its kind in London, established all the way back in 1739. Coram’s headquarters are in Brunswick Square, but they function as an umbrella group and work with children and youngsters all across the UK.
