Cena Breaks Agreement
Cena’s Ford GT has changed owners again, although it didn’t sell for as much as the last time it was on sale. It is widespread knowledge that Ford has put some measures in place to prevent buyers from flipping their Ford GTs.
That goes beyond ordinary stability control system as the company makes the owners undertake not to sell the vehicle within 2 years after they take delivery.
John Cena, however, broke the contract as he sold his own within a short period after he took delivery. Ford instituted an action against him, but they eventually canceled it. After that moment, the supercar has been freely trading on the market.
Ford GTs on the open market are only a few, and that has made a lot of enthusiastic buyers willing to have the car in their possession. Since it got on the open market, it has had nothing less than 5 owners.
Multiple Owners
Cena initially sold his own to a dealer. The dealer sold the vehicle to an old farmer who experienced difficulty getting into the car, and he decided to auction it. Another dealer sold it for about $1.54 million to another owner, and it was later sold in Dallas to its last owner for $1.32 million.
The total amount lost from the car’s initial value reaches at about $220,000, and that difference is equivalent to almost half of what the automaker charged for the vehicle when it sold it.
It won’t come as a surprise if the supercar is put up for sale soon again particularly if its new owner believes there is a chance of getting more than the original hammer price. However, with Ford taking up orders for its next batch, the demand for the supercar may not be as high as it was in the past.
