She came in like a wrecking ball and hit us hard! Who doesn’t like the tunes Miley Cyrus has released over the years? That she is the embodiment of talent (and then some) is in no doubt.
And although we all claim that she hit us hard, none of us was as smitten as Liam Hemsworth. The two have been together since 2010, but it seems as though it’s the end of the road for them.
Head Over Heels No More?
Time and again, Miley showed us that she was head-over-heels when it comes to her Australian partner, and that she deeply cared for him. However, the one thing that the couple ensured remained shrouded in mystery was their marital status.
There had been rumors of Hemsworth popping the big Q, a secret wedding and all that, but no one really knew for sure. We were all satisfied with the fact that the two were still going strong almost a decade into their relationship. They finally got married in December 2018, but as PEOPLE reports, they went their separate ways on August 10.
Both Cyrus and Hemsworth have had pretty successful careers thus far, with the latter being a seasoned actor. Acting, it seems, is in the Hemsworth DNA. Liam’s brother, Chris, has also been making moves in Hollywood and you may know him from his Thor exploits in the MCU.
So, between this couple that almost stood the test of time (a decade is really long in Hollywood), who’s got more bank? You might be tempted to go with Miley because of her dad, but let’s prove or disapprove that, shall we?
Just as acting runs in Liam’s family, singing is what does it for the Cyrus family. Billy Ray Cyrus is Miley’s dad, but this particular girl didn’t need dad’s money to make it on her own. When she was 11, Miley auditioned for Hannah Montana and got the lead role.
According to Cosmopolitan, the young actress received $15,000 for an episode, with her earnings totaling to $450,000 each season. Seeing as the show went on for five years, there’s no doubt that Miley made some good money out of it.
Music All the Way
As Miley grew older, she wanted nothing more than to separate her music from her Hannah Montana persona. She did exactly that, concentrating all her efforts to her career. As Cosmopolitan reports, Miley has made $25 million from music downloads alone. Party in the USA is her most successful single in this respect, earning her at least $7 million.
For her appearances on The Voice, Miley was taking home $13 million per season, and as of 2017, her net worth stood at $160 million. Two years later, you expect this figure to have grown considerably, don’t you?
Liam hasn’t been doing bad either, but if we’re being honest, Miley’s $160 million eclipses his $16 million. He has been in commercially successful movies such as The Dressmaker, the Hunger Games franchise, and has also featured in The Expendables films.
With Liam Hemsworth expected to star in many more blockbuster hits, there’s no doubt that he’ll make much more in the near future. It’s just so sad that Miley may not be in his life to watch him rise to legendary Hollywood status.
