Aren’t you delighted when you hear engagement news? This might be because we might be hearing wedding bells anytime soon. Moreover, you may feel extra happy to know that another royal ceremony is on the horizon, this time, it is Princess Beatrice who’s gearing up to exchange “I do’s” with her now-fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Well-Wishes
The Buckingham Palace shared the good news and revealed that the couple got engaged in a trip to Italy. It further divulged that the royal wedding will happen next year, although it didn’t specify which month. The bride-to-be’s parents, the Duchess and Duke of York, extended their congratulations to the lovely duo, who said they are excited about starting this new chapter of their lives.
Princess Beatrice’s equally stunning sister, Princess Eugenie who tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank a year ago, gushed over the announcement and obviously couldn’t contain the excitement, saying she saw this from the get-go.
The groom’s father and mother, Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi and Nicki Williams-Ellis, expressed their happiness over the engagement. The future in-laws shared that they have known the 31-year-old for so long and that the two are really meant to be.
Engagement Ring
Edoardo, or Edo as Princess Beatrice fondly calls him, didn’t disappoint with the ring he chose to pop the big question with. Zooming in on the sparkler, it is Meghan Markle-approved since the bling came from Shaun Leane, the British jeweler that the former Suits actress is very fond of.
The biggest, unmissable diamond is 2.5 karats while the smaller ones are .75 karats – all of which were sourced in Botswana. But what was even more touching was that Edoardo had done his research prior to meeting with the famous jeweler. Shaun explained that the groom-to-be contacted him four months ago to talk about the design of the accessory.
Edoardo was sure he would choose a round stone and a platinum band, and as for the aesthetic, the 36-year-old explained his girlfriend was into the Victorian-style accessories and for him, Art Deco. So what the jeweler and the client agreed upon was a harmonious blend of the two things. As for the stones, the groom-to-be chose them himself.
Dating History
Romance rumors erupted in November last year, but people had a lot to say about how fast things escalated between the two. While speculations that Edoardo and Princess Beatrice were just introduced to each other not so long ago, sources said the two have known each other for quite some time since the property tycoon is a family friend of the royal clan – so much so that their peers claimed they don’t really need to go through the nerve-racking introduction to their families.
They seemed to have confirmed the rumors during their appearance at the National Portrait Gallery’s event a couple of months ago. Princess Beatrice donned a deep red dress and his boyfriend, a classic black tux that only made him look even more dapper.
