The 2019 Grammy Awards were marred with scandals from hosting to performances and even the questionable nominations. We saw many celebrities boycott the event after Kevin Hart was declined from hosting the show. When Alicia Keys got the nod to replace Hart, there were mixed feeling from the audiences because she isn’t known for her comedic skills. Keys became the first woman host of the event since Queen Latifah in 2005.
Keys surprised everyone by hosting a night filled with laughter, joy of winning awards and good music. To surprise the audience, she started the night with none other than Michelle Obama. Between the show, she danced with Jennifer Lopez and crooned with Smokey Robinson.
She stole the show by her incredible skills with musical instruments. The singer played two pianos at the same time while delivering a medley of classics that got us screaming.
Keys’ incredible performance on the stage was godsent which made the Grammy a success. In a candid talk, she talked about losing the award for best song to John Mayer in 2005, and how he shared the Grammy with her.
Keys taught us an important lesson with the way she used her musical talents in telling us many stories. She brought soothing energy, and class with her signature approach to her hosting gig.
