If you only know of Simon Cowell from the Got Talent and X Factor shows, then you must think that he’s a very harsh man. He very well could be, but he always has the contestants’ best interests at heart.

How much talent do you think he has nurtured over the years? Take the former boy band One Direction. It was Simon who put the guys together when they auditioned for X Factor individually, advising them that their voices worked better with them singing together.

A Kind, Generous Soul

Away from the shows, Simon is actually a kind and generous soul. But as is the case in life, he has had some ups and downs in his personal life, with the biggest scandal arguably being when he was accused of having an affair with Lauren Silverman in 2013 while she was still married to Andrew Silverman.

It turned out that the accusations were actually true, with Lauren giving birth to Simon’s son in early 2014. But such is life, right? Anyway, that’s a story for another day. Back to the harsh judge being generous, he was recently caught on camera handing over £20 to a female beggar.

The talent coach was just from shopping in London’s Harrods when the woman came up to him as he was just about to get into his car. Without saying a word, she stretched out a hand, and receive the cash for her efforts. It doesn’t hurt to try, right?

What might just have been petty cash for Simon must have meant the world to the poor lady, and she must have had a nice treat that day.

According to credible research, more than half of Britain’s homeless population live in London. That’s almost 17,000 individuals who have to make do with sleeping on pavements or cramping themselves up in inadequate hostel rooms. With extreme weather conditions being experienced lately, you have to feel sorry for them.

Professional Beggars

However, research by news channels has also shed light on some sinister ongoings in the streets of London. Have you ever heard of professional beggars? They are very much in existence, and you may have even fallen prey to them. Could Simon have been duped too? No one will ever know.

Channel 4 unearthed an intricate network of individuals who are well off, have roofs over their heads, but dress up in tatters every morning and head out into the streets. Where is the world headed? Unfortunately for the rest of us going on with our business, these professional beggars have perfected their craft that you wouldn’t suspect a thing.

Since this information got out, there have been those who have committed to never lending a hand to a beggar in the street. And in as much as this may protect them from getting duped, it is disadvantageous to those who genuinely need our help.

What’s your take on these crafty schemers? They should actually be rounded up and spend some time behind bars. In all honesty, why should they take advantage of people’s generosity? It’s appalling to say the least!
