Jared Leto is a musician, actor, an aggressive investor and venture capitalist who has invested in a number of startups that went on to be acquired by big companies, making his investment multiply exponentially. Leto invested in a company called Nest,which in 2014 was bought by Google for more than $3 billion, as well as tech giants like Uber and Airbnb. He even had meetings with Instagram creators just a few days before Facebook bought the social media platform for $1 billion in 2012.
The actor is legendary as a technology investor, who has made bids for Uber, Snapchat, and Spotify. The aggressive nature of Leto in investing early on has made him a 21st century Renaissance man. Leto said that he has always wanted to be an entrepreneur ever since he sold substance as a child.
He found community, technology and the social media when Leto’s band 30 Seconds to Mars wanted to start a website and message board to better communicate directly with fans.
