New Cars For Employees
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi recently helped an Indian diamond merchant to present six hundred new cars to some of his employees.
The cars were given as gifts to 600 employees who work with Hari Krishna Exporters, a diamond trading company that was founded by Savji Dholakia. In addition to that, nearly one thousand other employees were given cash deposits as well as apartments. The presentation of gifts was held in a massive ceremony which took place Surat.
It is an Indian practice to give one another gifts on the days leading to Diwali and Dholakia is quite famous all across India for his practice of handing out lavish gifts to those who work for him at Diwali. During the 2016 ceremony, he reportedly gave several apartments out as well.The 600 cars he gifted are estimated to be valued at over $2 million at the showroom level.
Giving of gifts yearly when a lot of Hindu festivals celebrations take place has been recorded to boost India economy in major ways. The gifts he handed out formed part of the company’s program that targeted member of staff who had been loyal in their service to the company.
Taking to Facebook, Dholakia wrote that the major aim of the program was a way to reward the dedication and loyalty of the selected employees to the company.
Dholakia’s Consistent Benevolence
Dholakia gave away the gifts in a major ceremony known as Skill India Incentive Ceremony. The ceremony held in Surat in Gujarat. The Prime Minister addressed the people via a video link and he handed the keys to the 600 cars to a number of the recipients in New Delhi.
Sometime in September, Dholakia was in the news for handing Mercedes Benz SUVs to 3 of his senor staffers who had completed twenty five years in the service of the company. One of the SUV is estimated to cost around Rs. 1 crore.
Also in 2017, the businessman gave over 1000 Day sun Redi-Go cars as gifts to some of his employees for the new year.
The year before, the diamond merchant also gave a Diwali bonus that was worth about Rs 51 crore to the employees. That same year, he gave 400 flats and 1,260 cars to employees as well.
For this year, the diamond engineers and polishers at the diamond trading company will be gifted Maruti Suzuki Celerio and also Renault KWID vehicles. The diamond trading company has about 5,500 employees and the post on Facebook indicated that 4,000 already got their own gifts.
Company’s Outstanding Performance
Savji Dhanji Dholakia is the chairman and founder of Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. The company manufactures and exports diamond and it has its manufacturing units located inSurat which is in the Indian state of Gujarat. It has sales and marketing office in Mumbai. He reportedly began his diamond business with a little loan he obtained from an uncle.
At the moment, the company exports its finished diamonds to over fifty countries straight from Mumbai. The diamond trading company has affiliates in different countries such as the U.S., China, Hong Kong, UAE and Belgium. Hari Krishna company is one of the top 5 in the diamond industry. It has been the recipient of several awards for its outstanding performance.
The company has received the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council awards from the year 2003 to 2014. Outside organizations have also taken cognizance of the company’s achievements and it was awarded the Stevie Awards in 2014. It also received Hong Kong’s Jewellery News Asia Awards.
