Listing Details
Alex Rodriguez is ready to get married to his sweetheart, Jennifer Lopez and one of the moves evidencing his readiness is his desire to sell his Sunset Strip apartment.
Sources report that the couple has employed Joanne Gaines to help them design their Malibu home. Rodriguez’s apartment was no doubt designed for a single man.
The house which spans 3,700 square feet was initially built in 1954 to be an architectural research house. It was later redesigned in recent times by Xorin Balbes, a renowned L.A. Designer.
The aesthetics of the residence no doubt reflects the style sensibilities of Rodriguez, i.e., masculine, angular plus a blend of concrete as well as oversize glass windows.
It has a boxy exterior which opens to a grand room which features a living room that has double-height ceilings and a modern fireplace. It also has a whole glass wall that overlooks a garden patio that comes with a man-made waterfall.
Last fall, the listing price of the Sunset Strip apartment was $6.5 million, but it has dropped to $5.2 million. Rodriguez reportedly bought the four-bedroom house in August 2014 from Meryl Streep for $4.8 million.
Apartment’s Fittings And Fixtures
It has a formal dining room with a fun touch and a wall fully covered with the mural of a happy face. There is also an eat-in kitchen that provides a more casual dining area and is surrounded by 2 refrigerators and 2 ovens. There is also a built-in wine fridge of full height in the kitchen.
The adjacent family room has a set of stairs leading up to bedrooms that have full glass walls that overlook the outdoor spaces. Also, the living room leads to a swimming pool with a surrounding terrace. There is also a separate lounge area that has a number of outdoor TVs.
Lopez and Rodriguez have been spending a lot on real estate in these past few years. For instance, they got a Manhattan ultraluxe condo for $15.3 million last year, and they turned it around and listed it for $17.5 million this year.
Their reason for putting the house up for sale is that they are hoping to get a larger space that can accommodate their joint families. Also, they recently paid $6.6 million to acquire the beachfront Malibu home of Jeremy Piven.
Lopez’s Real Estate Venture
On her end, Lopez is the proud owner of an eight-acre property in Bel-Air which she purchased for $28 million sometime in 2016. Not just that, the singer also has an estate situate in the Hamptons which she bought for $10 million as far back as 2013.
Also, she owns a duplex penthouse located north of Madison Square Park, and she has that up for sale for a little under $25 million. Rodriguez is also the owner of a Coral Gables mansion which reportedly has similar singular features with his Sunset Strip apartment.
