Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s Luxurious French Chateau Might Just Be the Most Expensive Hotel Ever!

The first time they got married, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner opted for a hush-hush affair in Las Vegas that only cost them $600, which — obviously, with their celebrity status — didn’t even make a dent in their bank accounts.

But just because they didn’t opt for a lavish two-part ceremony like Priyanka and Nick did, it didn’t mean that their impromptu Vegas wedding wasn’t one of the most special days of their lives.

The affair was quite an animated one, involving candy rings, a pink Cadillac, and even an Elvis impersonator as their wedding officiator – an ironically perfect kitschy ceremony for the stars that they are: the groom being a dashing frontman and the bride, one of the stars in the recently ended high-rating TV series.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner stayed at Le Chateau de Tourreau in Provence, France, a week before they tie the knot

So for their second wedding, which they hinted in May during their interview at The Late Late Show with James Corden, they went big, but not massive-church-wedding-invite-500-guests big.

Instead, they opted for a quite, yet elegant event, in a picturesque town in France. Yes, ladies, the last single lad in the JoBro band tied the knot with his lovely wife across the Atlantic Ocean.

A French Historical Estate

Just a week before the grand affair, Joe and Sophie, together with Nick and Priyanka, landed in France and were seen in a posh estate called Le Chateau de Tourreau, located in the quiet but astonishing region of Provence in France.

Soon, Kevin and his wife Danielle, together with a couple of the bride and groom’s loved ones, arrived at the luxurious castle built in the 1700s.

The best part about this exotic French hotel is that it is available for booking on Airbnb, but with a steep price tag of $6,851 per night — we’ll pass.

The property is perfectly wedged between the picturesque Rhone Valley, not far from Avignon, Orange, and Aix-en-Provence, which are all within a half-an-hour drive.

The 17-acre of fine greenery is also just a 10-minute drive from neighboring vineyards in Chateauneuf du Pape, Vacqueras, and Gigondas.

Centuries-old Chateau

The chateau is straight out of a Disney live-action fairytale with romantic grooves and intricate sculptures and detailing all over the house. The chateau is also with a baroque library complete with wall appliques.

With exterior carvings and sculpture dating back to the early 1850s, this property has seven en suite bedrooms perfect for 15 guests whereas the seven additional rooms in the farmhouse, all with their own individual bathrooms, of course, can house 14 extra guests.

The place also offers one of the finest alfresco dining experiences on the chateau’s patio surrounded by nature and vintage fountains that will take you back in time.

The centuries-old estate also boasts modern features like a helipad, eight-car parking lot, a gym, and a large swimming pool with an adjacent summer kitchen.

They also used travertine stone for the countertops in the chateau kitchen with modern and high-grade appliances.

Le Chateau de Tourreau also has spaces for different sports like a tennis court, a basketball court, and a squash court.

Rich History

Aside from its rich architecture, the chateau is also rich in history, even surviving the French Revolution, a looting and fire incident in 1791, and the German occupation in 1941 when the house suffered greatly. The land was first acquired by Paul Tourreau in 1612 and he later built a house and added some greenery to it.

Two years later he and his brother-in-law, François de Royers de La Valfenière who is an architect from Avignon, added a chapel to the property.

But more than a century down the line, François Bénézet de Tourreau decided to replace the first house and commissioned architect Esprit-Joseph Brun to design a new structure in 1748.

Little did he know that it would one day host one of the most anticipated weddings in Hollywood

The pool and a pillar awarding the two architects — La Valfenière and Brun — were also added on the property in 1959.
