Baby Pilar
Porsha Williams is excited about the birth of her first child, Pilar Jhena. The actress recently welcomed her baby girl with her fiancé, Dennis McKinley.
According to her, her daughter is everything she has ever wanted. She continued talking about her experience since the birth of her daughter by describing it as a really good one. Williams said her baby has adjusted well enough and she recently celebrated her first month.
Although everything now seems well, this wasn’t the case earlier on before her baby’s arrival. The star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta shared some of the things she went through prior to her birth on her new spin-off series.
Pre-Birth Tensions
As evidenced in the trailer, a lot of tensions came up with McKinley regarding their living situation.
Also, their parents got into a heated battle. The special series also document the birth of Pilar. The baby girl was delivered a week before Williams due date through cesarean section.
According to her, several people think cesarean sections are easier, but she doesn’t hold that belief.
She noted that it was a full and serious surgery which was really difficult for her. She said healing from the surgery had her taking pain medications and she still had to care for her baby. All that was overwhelming for her at that time.
Being a New Mom
One other event that increased her worries was that she wasn’t producing enough milk to breastfeed her baby. She referred to it as the hardest part about being a new mother.
She said initially she didn’t really care much about it and she was considering putting the baby on formula. However, when her baby arrived, she wanted to give her everything, and it was quite difficult when she wasn’t able to produce enough milk.
She added that it got so serious that she almost had postpartum depression. Her saving grace was that she had to get her mind settled as to the fact that she was unable to breastfeed her baby.
In her opinion, she wasn’t sure whether or not her body was ready. Her fiancé and her friends remained supportive, and they were quick to remind her that it was okay for her to feel that way.
They ensured that she never forgot how great of a mom she was, referring to how much she loves her baby. They told her baby Pilar was going to get everything she needs, and she couldn’t agree more.
Her baby’s name also has a special meaning. Pilar is a Spanish name which is linked with the Virgin Mary. Jhena also means God.
