Same Car, Different Prices
It is quite a normal occurrence for people to ask the owners of big cars how much they had to part with to acquire the cars. Eddie Cunningham said that he tries to explain to those people that a lot of cars have two different prices nowadays.
Specifically, a car could have the nominal price or the entry-level price and also have the price that comes when extra features are added to that particular model.
At the end of the day, the difference between the entry-level cost and the price when those features are added ends up climbing so high. Cunningham used the Audi Q8 large coupé or SUV as an example.
He added that the vehicle has a higher €23,000 cost price than the price for the car at the entry level. The car has additional features and it indicates how substantially the price of a car can change when you want additional features added to it. For instance, the cost of a spare wheel for the car is €415.
The Q8 Coupé
The Q8 comes in form of a coupé as it has very noticeable roof slopes and it can also be rightly regarded as a large sport utility vehicle. The car appears compact even more than a lot of people anticipated and that makes for its easy navigation through tight parking spots.
The car is about 2m wide, 5m long with a 1.71m height. These specifications make it wider, lower and shorter than Q7 SUV. The Q8 has only two rows with five seats unlike Q7 which has three rows and seven seats.
According to Cunningham, the car has diverselayers. The Q8 offers huge comfort and its dash, interactivity and instrumentation were well located. Also, they were easily read and worked. It has good seats and thick pillars which translates to visibility blackspots.
It can be said that the car wasn’t designed as a towering powerhouse as it is more sophisticated than that. Cunningham further noted that thesilence in the car’s cabin regardless of the surface or shape of the road showed that a high level of engineering went into making the car.
Q8 And Comfortability
Passengers who occupy the rear seats would have room for themselves and would also feelvery comfortable as they enjoy the silent ride. That kind of comfort is what some people find more important than just the performance. However, Cunningham added the regardless of the numerous and generous layers, the vehicle still cost a lot.
He admitted that he understood why some people would strongly argue that the price and the comfort is what stands the SUV apart. He further stated that the car is a higher reflection of luxury than Merc GLE or BMW X6. He added that even though he wasn’t captivated by the car’s performance or ride and handling, the car successfully incorporated a lot of features. As such, regardless of the price tag and its drawbacks, he still considers the car to be a very good choice.
Features And Specifications
The price of this Coupé at entry level starts from €103,050. Its specifications include virtual cockpit, Valcona leather, HD Matrix LED headlights, 21ins alloys, two-zone air conditioner and an adaptive sport air suspension. The options you can go for include four-zone air conditioner, Bang & Olufsen system and an all-wheel steering.
The SUV comes with a single frame grille modeled after Audi quattro. The fact that it is coupe-like as well as its subtler raked rear screens makes the car have a larger boot and also better cabin space. The car rear has a lighting signature similar to A8 limousine’s. Prospective buyers will get to choose from 12 different colours.
There will also be diversefinishes and amounts of the body plastic dependent on the particular trim level. The basic Q8 will have its wheelarches surrounded by grey plastic. For the editions that come with higher specification, they will have painted wheelarches surrounds. The higher versions will also have their front grille surround, rear diffuser and sill trim with matt-grey finish.
