Being a royal provides you with the opportunity to live a life that millions around the world can only ever dream of. With royalty comes great responsibility — but also some pretty cool perks. Just ask the Sussexes who are taking full advantage of the opportunities they’ve been given. How lucky are they?
According to Mail Online, the couple enjoys regular spa visits, massages, and pedicures at Coworth Hotel. Quoting an unnamed insider, the media outlet reported that their recent visit to the Ascot hotel resulted in some luxurious massages and pedicure sessions.
Barefoot Speech
This makes sense, as the Prince was due to deliver a Google Camp speech in Sicily, a task he’d handle barefoot. We wouldn’t want our dear old Harry having overgrown nails and cracked heels while addressing the audience now, would we?
According to the insider, the Duchess is keen on having the same teamwork on her whenever she shows up for an appointment, and were there to be any new members, she has to personally approve their addition to the team.
As for her husband, he’s only interested in having his feet worked on, with the massages being a plus due to injuries he has suffered while playing polo.
How much do you think services go for at a hotel that’s one of the royals’ favorites? Definitely not cheap if we’re being honest.
For a night at Coworth, you have to part with $600, which converts to £500. And if you were to count in the add-ons such as a foot treatment or a massage at the spa, you’ll have to fork out an additional $60.
We mentioned Google Camp in passing, but do you actually know what that is? The annual event is a meeting where the world’s celebrities congregate to discuss pressing world issues.
For 2019’s edition, the matter at hand was climate change, and it was on this topic that Prince Harry gave a touching speech. Everyone knows just how much he holds matters related to environment close to his heart.
Two Sides to a Coin
But just like there are always two sides to a coin, some people have been raising concerns with the Prince’s attendance, particularly since he took a private helicopter to the Sicilian region.
Apparently, flying private would add at least three carbon tonnes into the atmosphere, beating the logic of attending a climate change event. If he’d have traveled commercially, reports say, the trip would have emitted 10 times less carbon.
Interestingly, this isn’t the Prince’s first time to come under fire for actions some people deem contradictory to his efforts against climate change.
Earlier this year, Prince Harry chartered a private jet a few days before delivering a climate change speech, parting with $8,000 and emitting tonnes of carbon while at it.
The speech, delivered in London on WE Day, laid emphasis on climate being more of a humanitarian rather than a political issue.
The Prince continued to say that as a global people, we are yet to fully rise to the occasion and combat the effects climate change is having on our day to day lives.
However, the silver lining, he continued, is the fact that at the moment we have the appropriate technology required to save both the planet and ourselves.
